INSTALLATIONS

Shona’s work frequently involves the use of interactive software that captures real time motion

and projects an interpretation of that movement in a variety of different ways to suit different environments and aesthetics.

A collection of 10 installations exist already. Work can also be generated as a site-specific response to a physical space or creative event.

Either singular or grouped installations are designed to be installed in:

  1. Art Galleries

  2. Public Spaces, interior or exterior

  3. A performance / event context with professional performers

All three settings can encourage the audience to move by inspiring a playful dialogue between the body, the live space and the recorded space and body.

2008 installations include:

March - May            Mirror Me Exhibition

                                 MIC Toi Rerehiko Gallery, Auckland

July                          New Work, commission from New Era Horizons Festival Wroclaw, Poland

October                      Beacon, Nelson Arts Festival

AVIVA

Is a real-time art work that is a digital mirror of transformation. It is a kinaesthetic listening post, a framed work that sees the viewer and responds with beautiful visuals, inspired and driven by its audience.

A collection of 8 interactive scenes are available . The work can also have an aural output that either accompanies scenes or is again motivated by the viewer in front of it.

You are transformed to become the art. The viewer becomes the viewed.  Your vital image is seen and heard in this visual and aural piece. Without you the artwork is not complete.

The work is designed to inspire, invite and reward participation from its audience, of all ages.

The potential for the adaptability of this idea to environments other than public galleries is enormous. Either individuals in a home, people entering a foyer, reception or event area or even embedded in wall spaces as part of the fabric of a contructed environment, interweaving inhabitants with a space through this portal of interaction.

The possibilities for scale, size and content with this work are absolutely endless.

CORPORATE

Shona’s interactive installations are ideal for corporate events, expos, and conferences as feature entertainment or as leisure spaces, experiential de-stress rooms. They are hugely engaging and playful.

EDUCATION

Students of all ages have loved this work. Shona’s recent exhibition at MIC Toi Rerehiko attracted record numbers of participants and students from primary, secondary and tertiary schools engaged inquisitively with the work.
